What types of support does NDIS funding cover? +
Funding covers reasonable and necessary supports related to your disability - including daily living, social and community participation, transport, therapy, assistive technology, home modifications, supported independent living and support coordination.
Does the NDIS cover the cost of medical care like diagnostic tests, treatment, medication or hospital visits? +
No. Day-to-day medical care, prescriptions and hospital services remain the responsibility of Medicare and the public health system. The NDIS funds disability-specific supports that are not covered by other government services.
Are the Disability Support Pension and the NDIS linked? +
They're separate. The Disability Support Pension is an income payment from Centrelink, while the NDIS funds supports and services. You can receive both at the same time if you meet each scheme's eligibility criteria.

Can a participant younger than seven receive funding under the NDIS? +
Yes. Children under seven access support through the Early Childhood Approach, which connects families with an Early Childhood Partner who provides short-term early intervention and helps determine if NDIS funding is needed.
Can services start immediately? +
Yes - service can start immediately. Once we understand your plan and goals, we match support workers and begin delivering supports right away. Most participants start within the same week.
