High-Intensity Support
Specialised, clinically-informed support for complex daily needs.
About this service
High-Intensity Support at Ruhil Care is specialised, clinically-informed care for participants with complex daily needs. Our team is trained and credentialled to safely deliver supports that go beyond standard personal care — including complex bowel care, enteral (PEG) feeding, seizure management, tracheostomy care, ventilator support, diabetes management and pressure-care routines. Every shift is delivered by workers who know your routine, your equipment and the people around you, with registered-nurse oversight built into the way we work.
Every plan is shaped around your goals, preferences and routines. Our team works closely with you, your family and your circle of support to make sure the service feels right from day one — and stays that way.

Common questions
What counts as High-Intensity Support under the NDIS?+
High-Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA) are supports requiring extra training and risk management — including complex bowel care, enteral feeding, seizure management, tracheostomy care, ventilation support, subcutaneous injections, urinary catheter care, complex wound care and severe dysphagia management.
How is High-Intensity Support funded?+
It is funded under Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Life at the High-Intensity hourly rate when your NDIS plan identifies the relevant high-intensity needs. We can help you and your support coordinator request the correct line items at your next plan review.
Do you have Registered Nurses on the team?+
Yes. Our Clinical Lead is a Registered Nurse and provides oversight, training sign-offs, plan reviews and 24/7 clinical escalation for every high-intensity participant.
Are your workers actually trained for these supports?+
All workers delivering high-intensity supports are assessed against the NDIS High-Intensity Support Skills Descriptors and must be participant-specifically signed off — for your seizure plan, your feed regime, your equipment — before they work solo with you.
Can you support me at home as well as in a group home?+
Yes. We deliver high-intensity support in your own home, in our SIL group home, in short-term accommodation and in the community — whichever setting your plan supports.
Can you take over after a hospital discharge?+
Absolutely. We routinely coordinate complex discharges from Nepean, Westmead and other hospitals — including equipment set-up, training family carers and ramping up support hours during the first weeks at home.
What happens in an emergency?+
Your written care plan includes an emergency response plan. Workers follow it, contact our on-call RN, call 000 if required and stay with you until you are safe — and we communicate with your family every step of the way.
